To empower people and communities to improve health and social care services together

Action on Dementia Sunderland - Help for Today, Hope for Tomorrow

Action on Dementia Sunderland is a community based charity which was formed in January 2010 to provide support to the people of Sunderland who have dementia, also their carers (families and friends). The organisation’s committee and volunteers have many years of experience in caring for people with dementia and understand their needs and the needs of their carers.

Healthwatch Sunderland has had the pleasure of engaging with Action on Dementia Memory Cafes.  We were greeted with a hearty welcome and much enthusiasm from attendees who were happy to hear about what Healthwatch Sunderland do. We listened to attendees personal experiences of using Health and Social Care services across the City and offered information and signposting where needed.
