A message from Nicola Armstrong, Service User and Carer Involvement Facilitator

06/07/2020

Hello my name is Nicola Armstrong, I work for Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust as a Patient and Carer Involvement Facilitator and my areas are Sunderland and South Tyneside.

If you or someone you care for has accessed services within our services in the last four years, and you want to get involved, this guide will explain how you can do this. Working together, is really important and should be at the heart of everything we do. It’s also about being listened to and feeling heard, feeling valued, sharing our views and coming to a mutual understanding and making decisions together.

You should be at the centre of every aspect of your care or the care of your friend, family member or loved one. There will also be opportunities for you to be involved in forums, staff recruitment, training or looking at what’s working well and why. In training evaluations, staff consistently feedback how powerful it is to hear people share experiences and expertise, which then leads to real improvements.

You can send an email to involvement@cntw.nhs.uk or you could phone me on 07920154568 or email nicola.armstrong@cntw.nhs.uk
