We've been out and about
Healthwatch Sunderland Engagement Team and our intrepid Volunteers have been ‘Out and About’ across all areas of Sunderland, making connections with local people to inform and increase knowledge on Healthwatch Sunderland – ‘Who We Are, What We Do and Engagement Processes’
‘Where Have We Been and Who Have We Seen?’ over the last couple of months;
We have engaged with and or collected feedback from; Sunderland Cardiac Support Group, Action on Dementia Memory Café and friendship clubs, Aquila Resource Centre, Hope Church Foodbank, Sunderland People First, Essence Service, Beacon of Light, Houghton Jobcentre Plus, Alzheimers Society’s Singing for the Brain and memory cafes, Pallion Carers Group, Washington Carers Group, Students from University of Sunderland and Grace House.
‘Care Home Life - What it’s really like’ - The good work continues with recent visits to St Mark’s Nursing Home, Cedar House, Donwell House, Princess House and Dairy Lane. The reports are being written and will be available to view on the Healthwatch Sunderland website soon…….…so, watch this space!
It is six months since the merger which resulted in the newly formed New Washington Medical Group and one year since the merger which resulted in the New Silksworth Medical Centre. Healthwatch Sunderland have visited both surgeries on several occasions to hear patient’s views on how the mergers are working for them, once again reports will be available soon on our website.
We continue to strive to hold discussions and to develop relationships with the people of Sunderland, so, calling all organisations and individuals from across the city, make sure you give your views on the health and social care services you use; it’s easy, it’s anonymous and could help to shape future health and social care services for us all!
