Support for local resident with COPD

When we were out and about in the community when were approached by a member of the public who was looking for support with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
COPD is a serious long term condition which can impact the quality of life for those have been diagnosed.

To help this lady out, through our Information and Signposting Service we were able to share some information about a brand new and exciting App which is full of useful information and has been designed by expert doctors and nurses to help people with COPD better manage their condition at home, including;

  • Inhaler technique videos
  • Education from experts
  • A six week pulmonary rehabilitation program
  • Prescription assessment
  • Self-management plan
  • Symptom and assessment tracking
  • Weather and air pollution forecasting

You can sign up for the App at your GP surgery. It’s easy to use and can be downloaded onto any internet device such as a smart phone, tablet or computer.

This was a big help to the lady, who wasn't aware of this service. We were also able to direct her to the local organisation B' Active 'N' B' Fit who deliver gentle exercise sessions for those with long term conditions.

This is another great example of how our Information and Signposting Service was able to get people the information they needed on local existing services.

Get in touch - we could help you too!
