Our Chair, John Dean
I have a keen interest in improving access to health and social care services for the benefit of the people of Sunderland and to remove the confusion that can exist, on the pathway they should chose for their treatment or social service needs and to ensure that they receive integrated or joined up care, when they are discharged from hospital so they are not left isolated when care is transferred from one service provider to another.
Vice chair, Paul Weddle

No decision about me, without me” should be a mantra for everyone requiring health and social care. I am now retired but have been unable to work becoming disabled. I care passionately about the NHS and believe that everyone should get the health and social care they need, when they need it and not what someone else assumes they need without involving them in the decision.
I am excited to have joined the team at Sunderland Healthwatch. I believe that my I can use my knowledge and experience as a board member and make sure that the views of people with a learning disability and or autism are well represented. I hope that I can help make changes in the way people are supported so that people have good lives and can say what is important to them.
My close family from great-grandparents to grand-children have always lived in Sunderland. The health and wellbeing of all the residents of Sunderland is of great importance to me. I feel I have the skills to be able to contribute towards providing a better service.
