South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is taking part in the national NHS England Learning Disability Standards Review 2024, which aims to understand the quality of care across learning disability services and identify improvement opportunities.

About the review

Your opinion and feedback are really important and will help to improve the experiences of people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people receiving care from the NHS.

To help hospitals know where they might need to do better, they are asking them for lots of information about their services. They are surveying frontline staff and speaking to people who use these services, so that they can understand if hospitals are truly meeting the Improvement Standards.

To ensure they understand the experiences of everyone interacting with hospital services they are keen to hear from relatives and family carers of people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people who have used a hospital service in the last year.
